Fix: Windows 10 Ignores Power Settings

After running an update my Windows 10 installation decided to completely ignore my power settings, and went to sleep after about three minutes of inactivity. It took me a while, but I finally found the fix. Follow these steps:

  • Click on the magnifier to start searching and type “sleep”
  • Select “Power and Sleep” from the search results
  • Click on “Additional power settings”
  • Click on “Choose when to turn off the display”
  • Select “Restore default settings for this plan” and confirm the prompt.

Now reconfigure the power plan to your own preferences.
